Original WW1 British Army Officers F. Barker & Sons Liquid Compass & Leather Case. Genuine period compass & leather case as used by officers and other ranks who required a compass in the field during the First World War.
The compass is the liquid filled variant made by Francis Barker & Son. The compass is in good original condition with the hinged lid and sight fully operational and all glass components are undamaged. T he compass points north, however due to its age I cannot guarantee 100% accuracy.The bottom of the compass is manufacture stamped. Makers London, government issue broad arrow and dated 1917. The leather case is complete which leather strap for the compass to be slung over the wearer which is usually missing. The case is manufacture stamped French & Son and dated 1917.
