The Apple Newton Message Pad was one of the first ever Personal Digital Assistants (PDA)- a term coined by Apple's then-CEO John Sculley. A Newton is best described a a handheld communications assistant with a touchscreen and pen-stylus that allows the user to gather, manage and shae information. This early handwriting recognition is the Newton's most unique and interesting abaility, being able to interpret the isers handwriting (Print an cursive) into computer readable text But as is often the case with early versions of complicated digital systems, this original Newton gives mixed results and is often inaccurate. This early, virtually unused version includes the Newton and pen-stylus, leather carrying case.
