Extremely rare samurai katana sword storage case. Edo, 17-18th. C ZZ76

Fine Samurai Katana (long sword) storage container, decorated with Gilded crest. Considering crest it could of belonged to someone related to Imperial house. Wood or bamboo with lacquer and mother of pearl inlay.

Swords were precious possessions , so this covers were very important accessory for the samurai warrior. Similar example can be seen in famous Stibbert Museum samurai collection in Florence. Very fine condition with expected minor abrasions.
