Delightful Houghton Ensign Focal Plane Reflex Camera In Original Leather Case. A delightful and original 1920's Houghton Focal Plane Reflex camera in its original leather case. This lovely old came looks in superb cosmetic shape. With no blemishes/damage worthy of note. The leatherette covering is very good.

The lens cover flap is good and opens and closes well. The leather focusing hood is in very good condition and folds up well.

There is also a bakelite rotary knob which advances the 120 film, this is in good shape and works but is a little stiff. There doesn't seem any obvious damage to the Anastigmat lens while the shutter still fires on at least the first three of the settings. It may well fire beyond this but the selector is a little stiff so I didn't want to risk damage. Also included in this sale is the original leather case. This is in nice condition with a beautiful patina (The strap is broken, some loose stitching).

The catch is very good while the purple velvet interior lining is in decent shape. This camera has been in storage for some considerable time so will certainly need a service before use. Previous owner said it wash is father's and to his knowledge hasn't been used since the late 1950's so is sure to require a service. This is the condition I found it in, I have not attempted any restoration.
