Antique Vintage Excell. 1930s Stetson Beaver Top Hat Size 7-1/8 & Leather Case

Antique Vintage 1930s Stetson "Beaver" Top Hat Size 7-1/8. This still has the original tag inside.

Thank you To one of our collector buyers for better dating this great hat! This was worn a few times but not enough to wear the size tag off.

It's a very beautiful top hat! Very very minor wear to the hat at all. Even the bound brim edge is excellent with no loose or broken threads.

See pictures and write to us with any questions. It's still very solid as far as structure of the hat. There are no bends or creases in the hat and the top stack is still firmly attached to the brim. It's still a great hat.

There is nothing to hide here on this excellent hat! My grandson said the only thing he noticed was a small rub on the back brim, see pictures. He said that the leather strap that was found inside must have rubbed that part.

Now for the "beaver"in the title. If you are not familiar with these hats here the truth of it.

Actual BEAVER Top HATS were made from beaver for a very short period of time. That would be late 1700s to around early 1800s. The beaver hair was NOT tightly bound to the hat and fell of plus it was almost a wooly look to it, it was a much longer hair (Thread) used so it actually stuck out of the hat by about 1/2 an inch. They developed a much sturdier and easier way to manufacture these great hats with what called "Plush Silk".

If anyone out there has more information to add please write dad and I. We always like to hear from better experts! Please don't read the internet OPINIONS and write us, we've done that already. This was found in that leather case and that is included in this sale. The key is still attached to the leather handle and fits the latch.

And oh yes the hat holding inserts are still there and they are in very good condition. Size 7-1/8 or 22-3/8 inches or 57. Brim width 2 inches, then has the curl with grosgrain ribbon.
