This "B" serial number Zeiss Icon Contax II camera is in extremely good shape considering it was made in 1936. Rangefinder eyepiece is slightly hazy and amber in color. Comes with the following: 1936 Zeiss Tessar 5cm f/2.8 lens - in VERY GOOD condition. No mold, scratches, or nicks on the lens elements - it does have a very slight haze.
The aperture is smooth but shows some wear - I can't decide if it is wear in the finish of one or two of the blades or if is a little oil. 1941 Zeiss Biogon 3.5cm f/2.8 with its own leather case with metal lens mount in the case to secure the lens. This lens shows moderate wear - there is one small "ding" on the outside barrel that is purely cosmetic. The aperture is smooth and oil free - but the lens is quite fogged. The cases are both true vintage 1930's circa Zeiss - "Zeiss Icon" stamped on the center of the lens portion. Both cases show wear but except for a small tear (pictured) in the rear flap of the lens case both are complete and functional.
They have all hardware - the button snaps and threads for the camera mounts work perfectly. The straps are complete with no tears.
I acquired this camera package from the son of the original owner. They have been kept in a climate controlled home for the past 50 years and considering their age they are excellent examples of Zeiss products from this era (pre-war and war). I can see these items sitting in a collection to be admired or for the patient photographer who loves the history of these cameras and lenses - can be used once again to capture photos.
